“Getting Married in Bora Bora……..We had a pleasant experience with a wedding planner named Roderick – see: www.weddingborabora.com. We are from the U.S. and had to ‘navigate’ through all the critical items needed in order to have a legally recognized wedding on this small but breathtaking island. Here are some of the things that will save you time and make your special day truly spectacular.
First, picking and contracting a wedding planner is critical so pick your wedding planner quickly and wisely. One of the critical items we needed was someone local that would maintain timely communication to insure things are being handled and to ease one’s nerves as your special day quickly arrives.
Our decision to chose Roderick was the best decision we made for our special day. Roderick was available by phone and was quick to respond to emails and inquiries. Roderick also was very familiar with the local Mayor’s office personnel and was very willing to personally deliver our French translated wedding documents with quick feedback. We also found that Roderick was very flexible to changes in plans as our cruise ship changed our itinerary three times before settling on a specific day of arrival on the island.
Roderick also was well connected with supporting our request for a 2nd traditional Polynesian wedding which occurred on a nearby private island. The polynesian non-denominational priest was also patient in providing translation from French to English.”
La Depeche de Tahiti – Here’s an article for this country’s leading newspaper covering the above wedding – so I can leave the images with you as a matter of public record:
“If you are considering a wedding on Bora Bora you should definitely speak with the guy who runs Wedding Bora Bora. His name is Roderick and he made our wedding into something truly unforgettable.
We are from Germany and had decided to get married on Bora Bora which is by the way the most beautiful place I have ever been to. Now living on the other side of the world with 12h time difference doesn´t make things easy when you want to plan a wedding. The easiest thing is to contact your Hotel. Thats exactly what we did. In our case it was the Hilton. What we got from them was a pricelist of things to do and to add to your ceremony. We emailed questions and received no reply. We called and nobody could help us. We became quite frustrated and that was the moment I found Wedding Bora Bora.
These guys are very helpful, very friendly and totally uncomplicated – they take their time, give good advice and go the extra mile to get things done for you. It was a blessing for us to have found these guys. Roderick, his Tahitian wife, Myriama, Stephan (photos) and his girlfriend were all so nice and we had such a fun day together that my wife and I spontaneously invited them to our wedding dinner (which we originally wanted to do alone).
Thanks again to you Roderick and Stephan for the wonderful memories you helped put together. Cheers. David & Eve Mahoney”
Erick & Patty – Traditional Renewal of Vows
“Roderick, we wanted to “Thank You” again for going above & beyond on planning our wedding vow renewal ceremony, it was everything we were hoping for and then some…
From day 1 you stayed in touch via email until our arrival making sure every single detail was cover!!
Thank you Roderick & your beautiful Tahitian wife Myriama for being part of our special day in Bora Bora!
Erick & Patty”
“At first, the idea of trying to organise our wedding in Bora Bora from Australia was quite daunting, especially after our first few interactions with some of the bigger resorts around the island. As our French is pretty limited and we were experiencing fairly long response times to our email enquiries, we started to question whether we had made the right decision as it all seemed as if it was going to be too hard.
Then we found Roderick from Wedding Bora Bora. It didn’t take long before we realised that we were in good hands. Roderick was very responsive to emails and enquiries and outlined from almost day one the fairly extensive documentation process and was onto us constantly – without being pushy- to make sure we had everything together in time for our special day. Roderick was able to offer us all the options available on the island for our wedding from which we were able to tailor to our own desires. The flexibility was very much appreciated and something I imagine would be lacking when dealing with some of the bigger resorts. In addition Wedding Bora Bora utilises the best of local locations e.g. your own private motu, and also business e.g. photographer, makeup artist, transport via land/lagoon etc to cater for your needs so it’s nice to know that our money was going back into the local economy – something Roderick is very passionate about.
So whether you’re eloping or trying to organise a big traditional wedding, rest assured that Wedding Bora Bora has the knowhow and the connections to get the job done – and at a fraction of the price that you will pay at the big resorts. Roderick & his Tahitian wife are very friendly and easy going – just the traits you need in a wedding coordinator!
Thanks Wedding Bora Bora for helping to make our special day everything we wanted it to be and for making the process so easy and smooth.
We can’t recommend Wedding Bora Bora highly enough!”

“A wedding beyond our expectations and dreams was organised for us via Wedding Bora Bora.
We had a big group fly in from all over the world and to work out logistics from abroad (Brisbane, Australia) was stressful but we had great communication every step of the way and were guided by the professionals at Wedding Bora Bora and were thrilled with the detail they went to to make the day special.
They really know how to put the perfect ceremony together.
Thanks to all the team!”
Scott & Bahar – Civil Marriage
“To anyone considering marriage in Bora Bora, I wouldn’t recommend any other way than using Wedding Bora Bora.
Something that can be rather difficult when trying to organise from overseas was knocked over in such a short amount of time by using Roderick at WBB. He gave advice, ensuring our required documents were all ‘legal’ and had our special date confirmed with the Town Hall a good few months out which left our minds at ease.
Nothing was too much for Roderick, he liaised with his team, including Hair and Make Up, Photography and even gave us suggestions of things to do whilst we were in Bora Bora with the Heiva in particular. He even used his contacts to book us boat taxi transport at times and even called around for a tattoo appointment for me before we arrived. Wedding Bora Bora and Roderick in particular did more than just plan our wedding, he translated for us on the day and with his great knowledge of the area, we found ourselves using him as our own personal guide when looking at things to do.
Thanks again, we’ll definitely be back for those renewal of vows and would recommend Wedding Bora Bora to anyone!”
